Linda Kanney
Linda C. Kanney, 59, Celina, left our lives for a new life in heaven on Thursday, October 6, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born March 14, 1957 in Coldwater to Merilda (Bergman) and Herman Hoying. Her mother survives in St. Henry. On July 14, 1979 she married Michael Kanney, who resides in Celina.
Also surviving are three children, Laura (Jeff) Woeste, Dayton, Doug (Ashley) Kanney, Dublin and Joe (Juli) Kanney, Cincinnati; five grandchildren, Michael, Andrew and Lydia Woeste, and Addison and Allison Kanney; siblings Judy (Neil) Stemley, St. Henry, Carl (Bernice) Hoying, Belle Center, Millie (Marv) Stammen, Greenville, Vern (Sue) Hoying, Celina, Nancy (Jerry) Hemmelgarn, Celina, Karen (Charlie) Gels, St. Henry, Mary Jane (John) Post, Homosassa, FL, Bonnie (Jack) Knapschaefer, Coldwater, Alice (Dave) Homan, Coldwater, Dan (Brenda) Hoying, St. Henry, Lorraine (Kent) Paxson, Minster, Susan Hoying, Centerville and Gary (Annette) Hoying, Coldwater; mother-in-law Marilyn Kanney, Coldwater, brother and sister-in-laws Jerry (Pat) Kanney, Therese (Ed) Hosbach, Joyce (Paul) Howell, Bill (Kathy) Kanney and Lisa (Chuck) Alig, all of Coldwater, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Gina Kanney; sister, Eileen Hoying; father, Herman Hoying, and father-in-law Vincent Kanney.
Linda was a graduate of St. Henry High School with the Class of 1975 and worked for the Mercer County Common Pleas Court as a Deputy Clerk in the Probate/Juvenile Court. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian burial honoring Linda will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday Oct. 11, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S. and Fr. Ron Wilker officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday Oct. 10, 2016 and from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday Morning at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the Linda Kanney Memorial Fund (fund #7871), C/O The Dayton Foundation, 40 N. Main Street, Suite 500, Dayton, Ohio 45423, which will be used to benefit local education needs and cancer outreach & research efforts.
