Paul Cordonnier
Paul Cordonnier age 87 of Russia, Ohio died on November 16, 2016 at his home in Russia.
He was born on January 30, 1929 in Russia, Ohio to the late August & Freda (Barhorst) Cordonnier. He married Rosemary Glynn on July 12, 1949 at St. Remy Church, Russia, Ohio and she survives in Russia.
He is also survived by children: Ed & Linda Cordonnier, Celina, Kay & Ron Borchers, Russia, Don & Barb Cordonnier, Russia, Sandy & Heinz Finkes, Piqua, 12 grandchildren: Casey & Stephanie Cordonnier, Bryon & Araceli Cordonnier, Nick & Lisa Borchers, Kelly & Tim Norris, Keith Borchers, Jay Borchers, Tonya & Roger Hammonds, Spencer & Amber Cordonnier, Abby & Marcus Bixler, Matt & Merideth Finkes, Angie Finkes, 21 great grandchildren, brothers & sisters: Jim & Doris Cordonnier, Minster, Rachelle Cordonnier, Piqua, August Jr. & Barb Cordonnier, Russia, Bill & Sue Cordonnier, Cardiff, CA, Carol & Amos Johns, Piqua, in-laws Ken Schwartz, Connie Cordonnier, Julia Billenstein.
He was preceded in death by brothers & sister: Tom & Mary Cordonnier, Marie Schwartz, Ken Cordonnier, in-laws: Kathryn & Irvin Monnin, Joe & Helen Glynn, Naomi "Toots" & Paul Benanzer, Bob & Hilda Glynn, Janet & Cletus Schmiesing, Bob Billenstein.
Paul was a 1947 graduate of Russia High School and he retired from Francis Manufacturing after 35 years of service.
He was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, Grand Knight of the K of C, Russia Usher with church, former member of Russia Fire Department, Russia girls & boys golf coach.
He was an avid sports fan of the Russia Raiders, Cincinnati Reds & Bengals, OSU Buckeyes, and coached numerous youth sports teams. Many will miss seeing Paul sitting on his porch watching the Reds.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 21, 2016 at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, Ohio with Rev. Martin Fox celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Remy Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 20, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Monday, November 21.
Memorials may be made to the Gathering Place in Russia or Wilson Hospice.
