Third man arrested in local bank robbery

By Jared Mauch
CELINA - A third arrest has been made in connection to the Sept. 23 robbery of the Second National Bank branch at 800 N. Main St.
Timothy A. Rios, 22, Fort Wayne, Indiana, was arrested on Nov. 8 by Indiana law enforcement on a warrant from Celina police, Celina Police Chief Tom Wale said in a news release.
Rios was returned to Celina on Nov. 10 and was in the Mercer County jail this morning. He has been charged with robbery, a third-degree felony, and theft, a fifth-degree felony, Wale said.
Joshuia Bursey, 32, Pierceton, Indiana, was arrested Sept. 30 after a traffic stop in Fort Wayne conducted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County (Indiana) Sheriff's Office, the FBI Task Force and U.S. Marshals.
Celina police in September filed a third-degree felony robbery charge and fifth-degree felony theft charge against Bursey for the Celina robbery.
He is being held in the Allen County, Indiana, jail and faces a fifth-degree felony charge of robbery for a Sept. 19 Indiana robbery. He is awaiting extradition back to Celina, Wale has said.
Casey Atkins, 38, Fort Wayne, also was arrested for his alleged involvement in the Celina robbery and is being held in the Mercer County jail. He was arrested on Oct. 28.
Atkins reportedly was taken into custody in the Fort Wayne area after a warrant was obtained by Celina police. He was brought to Mercer County on Oct. 29 and reportedly is being held on a third-degree felony charge of robbery and a fifth-degree felony charge of theft.
The Second National Bank branch reportedly was held up at about 1 p.m. Sept. 23. A man allegedly had entered the bank, announced a robbery and demanded cash.
The man reportedly did not brandish a weapon but was given an undisclosed amount of cash and reportedly fled the scene on foot.
Celina police continue to investigate the robbery in conjunction with the Lima office of the FBI, the FBI Task Force and the Fort Wayne Police Department.
