Fire damages house

Smoke billows through the windows and doors of a home at 609 Elmwood Lane in the Northmoor subdivision on Thursday as Celina firefighters work to contain the fire. The home suffered heavy fire damage toward the front while the remainder sustained heat and smoke damage, according to a news release. The home is owned by Jon and Sherry Furrow of Covington. They were able to escape the home with no injuries but a family cat was lost. St. Marys Township Fire Department assisted on scene. Firefighters remained on site for approximately six hours.
