Paul Brunswick
Paul A. Brunswick age 83 of Maria Stein, Ohio died on Wednesday January 18, 2017 at St. Rita's Hospice, Lima.
He was born on July 16, 1933 in Wendelin, Ohio to the late Lawrence & Stella (Reichert) Brunswick. On November 10, 1956 in Immaculate Conception Church, Celina, he married Shirley Gardner, and she survives in Maria Stein.
He is also survived by children: Rick & Marlene Brunswick of Arlington, Ron & Deb Brunswick of Chickasaw, Linda & John Fleck of Maria Stein, Jay & Lori Brunswick of Maria Stein, and Lisa Griner of St. Henry; 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren with six on the way. Paul is also survived by siblings: Louie & Ann Brunswick of Coldwater, Irma & Urb Arling of North Star, and a sister in-law Janet Brunswick of Bryant, IN, Norma Borgert, Dayton, Norma Gardner, Celina.
He was preceded in death by a son in-law Nick Link; and siblings: Adele & Dick Stelzer, Marie & Tom Uhlenhake (1st husband) & Leo Broerman (2nd husband) Charlie Brunswick, Rita Brunswick, and Cletus Brunswick, in-laws: Tom & Joan Gardner, Luke Borgert, Bob Gardner, Cletus Gardner and Donald Gardner.
He worked at Minster Machine for 41 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein and the church's Men's Sodality. Paul was also a member of the Knights of St. John, Maria Stein, the Marion Booster Club, and the MCDO. He was formerly a coach for the Maria Stein Little League, and was President of the Marion Athletic Booster Club, where he was a driving force for the construction of Booster Stadium football field.
Paul was a craftsman in both wood and steel, and will be remembered as he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and by his sense of humor and hardy laugh.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 23, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein with Rev. Gene Schnipke celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, and from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM on Monday.
