Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off into tonight.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset and beyond as temperatures drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Campaign nearing $1.1 million goal

BURKETTSVILLE - The Center for Neurological Development officials are nearing their fundraising campaign goal of $1.1 million after recently receiving a $100,000 windfall.
With $870,00 either donated or committed by local corporations and individuals, officials say they have enough money to begin soliciting construction bids and hope to break ground in August on a major renovation that includes a new 6,000-square-foot wing. [More]

CELINA - The life expectancy for children with hemophilia was about five years when Ron Klosterman was born in 1948.
Now at 68, Klosterman is one of the oldest living hemophiliacs in the country.
"My goal in life is to reach 100 years of age," he said. "I want to be the oldest living hemophiliac. Right now I'm one of the older ones living but not the oldest."
Still, making it to the age of 68 is a feat. Most people of his generation with hemophilia didn't make it past middle age, he said. [More]
