Ida Beach
Ida "Jerrie" Beach, a resident of rural Montezuma, was born July 25, 1921 in the Berne area of Adams County, Indiana, to the late Dewey C. & Frances N. (Bevington) Butler.
She passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at her residence.
Jerrie married Jimmie James on December 29, 1943, and he preceded her in death on March 11, 1968. She later married William "Shorty" Beach on August 16, 1986, and he died February 25, 2007.
A sister, Carol Lacy, survives in Celina. Many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and great-great nieces & nephews survive, including Carol "Little Carol" Longsworth and Phyllis Dabe, both of Celina. Jerrie's special friend and caregiver, Paul Link, survives at the residence.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Alvina Brandt and two brothers, Johnie Butler and Harold Butler.
Jerrie attended country schools in the Berne and Fort Wayne areas of Indiana, then in Ohio, as her family lived in various locales. She retired from the Huffy Bicycle plant in Celina after 28 years of service.
Jerrie was a member of Abounding Grace Church, and a former member of the Moose Lodge and VFW, all in Celina. In her younger years, she was active in Celina bowling leagues. Jerrie enjoyed doing word search puzzles, and her most recent pastime, which was completing intricate designs in adult coloring books.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 AM, Sunday, May 21st at Abounding Grace Ministries, 7495 US Route 127 N, Celina, with Pastor Rick Brosher officiating. Burial will be at Burdge Cemetery, Montezuma. Arrangements are being handled by W.H. Dick & Sons - Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
