CELINA - A program designed to improve children's outlooks on life by partnering them with adult role models has received two grants totaling $160,000.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer, Auglaize and Van Wert Counties Executive Director Molly Hay announced in a news release that the organization has received $160,000 through the state's Community Connectors Mentorship program. [More]

CELINA - Celina City Schools board members took the first step this morning to place a 1 percent replacement income tax levy on the November ballot.
CELINA - Attorneys have until Aug. 3 to file motions in preparation for a trial involving Cory Eischen, who is charged with aggravated murder in connection with the death of a 4-year-old.
CELINA - The trial of a Mercer County man charged with robbing the Celina Best Western Hotel in April has been delayed while a second defense attorney joins the case.
Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reminds motorists that the Ohio Revised Code requires all drivers to yield the right of way to public safety vehicles.
Public safety vehicles are fire, EMS and law enforcement vehicles using emergency flashing red or blue lights and sirens.

New Bremen is making its first ACME District 4 tournament appearance in 10 years. Rounding out the field are three district regulars, Coldwater, St. Henry and Minster.
St. Henry will play host to the 2017 State Junior ACME Baseball tournament this weekend at the Wally Post Athletic Complex.
The field of eight teams are made up of the winner and runner-up from the four regional tournaments held over the last week.
