Ned Wurster
Ned E. Wurster, 90, of Pompano Beach, Fla., formerly of Spencerville, Ohio, passed away on June 8, 2017, at 2:06 a.m. following an extended illness at the Woodlands in Pompano Beach, Fla.
Ned was born September 20, 1926. in Celina, Ohio, to Edward F. and Mollie F. Kruger Wurster who preceded him in death. On November 18, 1945, he married Mary June Plikerd and they were married for 65 years until her death on February 26, 2011.
He and Mary lived in Spencerville all of their lives until their permanent move to Florida in 2009. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who lived life to the fullest!
For 35 years Mr. Wurster and his wife operated Wurster Realty & Construction in Spencerville. He was a 1944 graduate of Neptune High School in Mercer County. He was a lifelong member of the United Church of Christ in Spencerville where he served on the Official Board and was a 50 year Member of the Lodge #306 Free and Accepted Masons and Scottish Right of Toledo.
He is survived by two sons Dennis K. (Kathy) Wurster of Spencerville and Nicholas R. Wurster (Wendell Jackson) of Margate, Florida, one daughter Tamara K. Pope of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and 3 grandchildren Dennis K. Wurster, Jr. (Colleen) of Mooresville, NC, Troy Allen Wurster (Margaret Moose) of Lincolnton, NC and Dane E. Wurster (Heather) of Vale, NC. His sister, Marjorie Siefring survives in Powell, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by four brothers Dick, Harold, Tom, and Willard Wurster, brother-in-law John Siefring and sister-in-law Ruth Wurster.
Visitation will be held at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville from 1:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 19th.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, July 20th at 11:00 A.M. (Music to commence at 10:30 A.M.) at the United Church of Christ, Spencerville with Interment at Spencerville Cemetery following the service.
On Thursday, visitation will be after 10 AM at the church.
In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the Spencerville United Church of Christ Scholarship Program or a charity of the donor's choice.
