Flora Dippold
Flora Ann Dippold, age 95, formerly of Cassella died at Celina Manor in Celina, Ohio at 2:30 PM on July 20, 2017.
She was born on November 3, 1921 in St. Wendelin to the late Henry W. and Amelia (Stammen) Hemmelgarn. On June 5, 1943 she married Cyril Dippold at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1985.
She is survived by five children: Barb Moeller of St. Henry, Dale and Bonnie (Ontrop) Dippold of St. Sebastian, Bob and Katie (Heyne) Dippold of Cassella, Marg and Jim Bruns of Coldwater, and Gary Dippold of Cassella. Flora is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Jay, Dean and Brad Moeller, Kurt, Kevin and Kraig Dippold and Tammy Dues, Scott, Cory, and Ryan Dippold and Lindsay Schroeder, and Greg and Kyle Bruns, 26 great-grandchildren, her sister, Mary Agnes Miller of Brookville, Ohio, and sisters-in-law Mary Ann Hemmelgarn of St. Henry and Velma Hemmelgarn of Coldwater.
Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by a son-in-law John Moeller, four great-grandchildren, as well as siblings: Marcella and Melvin Bailey, infant Cyril Hemmelgarn, Clete and Agnes Hemmelgarn, Urban and Clara Hemmelgarn, Rita and Martin Harmuth, Betty Hemmelgarn, Ralph Miller, Ernie Hemmelgarn and Andy Hemmelgarn. She was also preceded in death by her in-laws Verona Dippold, Albert and Bertha Dippold, Alvina and Alvin Bertke, Rosina and Urban Buschur, and Norb and Vi Dippold.
She was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, its Ladies Sodality, and was a member of the church choir for several years. She was a member of the Catholic Financial Life, Cassella. Flora worked at the Starlight Drive-in Theatre for many years.
She enjoyed playing cards, belonging to a ladies card club for several years. She enjoyed fishing and was a fan of the Marion Local Flyers and the Cincinnati Reds. She made many quilts over her lifetime, including one for each of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed embroidering and donated many of those items for charities. Flora was noted for her famous homemade noodles and angel food cakes.
The family would like to thank both the Staff at Celina Manor as well as the Staff of State of the Heart Hospice for the outstanding care given to their mom in her time of need.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 23, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Monday, July 24.
