Marie Koesters-Ranly
Marie F. Koesters-Ranly passed away Wednesday August 2, 2017 at the Gardens at St. Henry.
Marie was born on March 30, 1923 in St. Wendelin, to the late Frank and Mary (Brunswick) Post. On April 12, 1944 Marie married Leonard J. Koesters, and he died July 5, 1980. She later married Paul J. Ranly on January 7, 1984, and he died January 30, 2012.
Marie is survived by her 13 children: Jean & Elmer Mueller of Yorkshire, Joan & Gerald (Hap) Brunswick of Anna, Jim & Pat Koesters of Springboro, Bill & Kathy Koesters of Carthagena, Charlene & Lou Grieshop of Ft. Recovery, Kathy & Roger Broerman of Ft. Recovery, Michael & Jane Koesters of London, Becky & David Rammel of Ft. Recovery, Nick & Darlene Koesters of St. Wendelin, Judy & Jack Gaerke of Ft. Recovery, Steven & Joyce Koesters of St. Henry, Mary & Matt Cahill of St. Henry, and Frank & Diana Koesters of St. Wendelin. She is also survived by 46 grandchildren, 138 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; as well as 11 step children and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Marie is also survived by three sisters: Lucille Stahl of St. Henry, Donna & Vernon Huber of Maria Stein, and Dorothy Keller of Ft. Wayne, IN.
Marie was preceded in death by her husbands, two grandchildren, a great grandchild, as well as her siblings: Margaret Kinder, Bernadette Fullenkamp, Ralph Post, Eddie Post, and Wally Post.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, St. Wendelin, and the ladies sodality of the church. Marie was a homemaker, and enjoyed dancing, playing organ and accordion, as well as fishing, bowling, and playing cards.
She had a talent crocheting, and she made afghans for each of her children, grandchildren, and even the great grandchildren. Marie was proud of the large family she raised and loved spending time with all of them.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Monday August 7th at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Wendelin Cemetery, Wendelin.
Viewing will be on Sunday August 6th from 1-7 pm, and Monday 9-10 am at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
