ST. MARYS - Plans to build a new football stadium at the high/middle schools campus are gaining momentum as school board members on Wednesday learned the original $6 million price tag has been pared back to about $3 million.
Dan Burke, secretary/treasurer of the St. Marys Philanthropic Association - the organization charged with raising funds for the project - told members the group now has a timetable established for the facility. [More]

COLDWATER - Mercer County Community Hospital officials marked a milestone in the construction of the west wing expansion project on Wednesday with a topping-off ceremony as construction workers placed the final steel beam of the structure along with an American flag and a small evergreen tree. FORT RECOVERY - An accident involving a pickup truck and an SUV claimed the life of at least one person this morning, Mercer County Sheriff's Capt. Doug Timmerman said.
