Lester Kemper
Lester A. Kemper, age 89, formerly of Lima, currently of Montezuma, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima.
He was born April 1, 1928 in Ft. Loramie to the late Ed and Theresia (Fleckenstein) Kemper. He married Evelyn (Lavy) Kemper on July 4, 1953, and she survives him in Montezuma.
He is survived by four children, Denny & Marty Kemper of Wapakoneta, Ron & Chris Kemper of Elida, Connie & Tim Rhoades of Versailles, and Pam & Mike Beisner of Versailles; daughter-in-law, Joyce Kemper of Lima; twelve grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; siblings, Tom & Ann Kemper of Xenia, Mary Lou & Gene Phlipot of Minster; and in-laws, Sis Kemper of Minster, Rosemary Poeppleman of Osgood, Mary Valentine of Gettysburg, Della Burch of Versailles, and Ray & Barb Lavy of Greenville.
He is preceded in death by children, Ed and Mary Gerarda; brothers, Bob, Alvin and Elton Kemper; and brothers-in-law, Franklin Valentine and Richard Burch.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John of Ft. Loramie, Celina VFW, Celina Moose Lodge, Lima Eagles, and a veteran of the United States Army.
Lester worked for the Ford Motor Company in Lima, Ohio for 31 years. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and playing cards.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Montezuma. Burial with military rites will be at 2 pm Saturday at St. Michaels Cemetery, Ft. Loramie.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm Friday and 9 to 10 am Saturday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
