Durbin Bean Bake

People showed up in droves on Monday with pots to be filled with beans during the 119th annual Durbin Bean Bake. The event originated in 1898 to honor Civil War veterans. Children's games, magic and pedal-tractor pulling completed a long day of bean pot stirring. Pictured, Jerry Fennig, Celina, scoops beans into a pot that will be served to hungry attendees.
