Kenneth Gerken
Kenneth H. Gerken, age 70, formerly of Celina, Ohio, died Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center, Pike-ville, Kentucky.
He was born February 12, 1947 in Marietta, Ohio. On July 2, 1973 he married Gracie Marie (Eversole) Gerken, and she survives at the residence in Langley, Kentucky.
Other Survivors include a son, Jeremy Kurt (Gwen) Gerken of Lake City, South Carolina; a god son, Greg (Renee) Whited; sisters-in-law, Opal Eversole & Sylvia Wiley; and his grandchildren, Keith Michael Gerken, Kendra Michele Gerken, Hannah Whited, Jay Whited & Lilly Whited.
Preceded in death by a son, Keith Allen Gerken; in laws, Sam & Reba Eversole; a sister-in-law, Helen Hamilton; a brother-in-law, Sam Eversole Jr.; and his grandparents, Henry and Mable Stengel.
Ken was a 1965 graduate of Ft. Frye High School in Beverly, Ohio, and went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Mayo Vocational School in electronics. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He retired as an electrician from New Idea in Coldwater, Ohio after 23 years of service.
He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Celina, Celina VFW Post #5713, Celina American Legion Post #210, and the Coldwater Eagles.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 3, 2017 in the Mt. Carmel Church of God, 2493 Carmel Church Rd., Celina, Ohio with Pastor Mark Wakeland officiating; where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina, with military honors by Celina VFW Post #5713 and American Legion Post #210.
