CELINA - Sentencings for two men who had pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a series of fake or forged checks were postponed on Wednesday, when one tested positive for cocaine and the other failed to appear in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
CELINA - A 33-year-old Lima woman pleaded guilty on Wednesday to aggravated possession of drugs, a third degree felony, in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

Mike Bashore takes over as coach for Chris Guggenbiller, who guided the Indians to a 33-15 mark and two district appearances over the last two years.
FORT RECOVERY - The Indians have been a consistent winner since Brian Patch took over.
Fort Recovery lost a few key cogs from last year's 19-4 team, but Patch is convinced this team can be a winner if it stays on the grind throughout the season.
MARIA STEIN - Marion Local may have surprised some with its run to the Division III regional final last season.
It wouldn't surprise anyone if the Flyers were to duplicate that success or even surpass it this season.
MARIA STEIN - The Flyers lost four starters off last year's 14-win team.
But that doesn't mean coach Beth Streib thinks the 2017-18 group won't be able to maintain the Marion Local standard.

NEW BREMEN - Returning experience should not be a problem for New Bremen girls basketball coach Chris Burden.
The Cardinals will open the 2017-18 campaign with five returning starters and three other letterwinners.
NEW KNOXVILLE - The goal is simple for New Knoxville: continue to get better.
Josh Lisi's bunch is coming off a campaign in which they went 5-18 overall and 1-8 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. They lost in the Division IV sectional semifinal to Temple Christian.
NEW KNOXVILLE - New Knoxville lost a few talented seniors from last year's team.
But veteran coach Tim Hegemier has some returning players and a couple newbies that he thinks will be able to help the Rangers competitive.
ROCKFORD - The Parkway boys basketball team has experience coming back from last season's 8-16 campaign. The positive from that record is after winning just four games over the first 16 games, the Panthers were 4-4 over the final eight games.
ROCKFORD - Optimism is high for the Parkway girls' basketball team. The program went 4-19 last season but returns the majority of their offense.

ST. HENRY - The Redskins of 2017-18 will look a lot like the Redskins of 2016-17.
This team should be even better.

ST. HENRY - Wendi Moorman has spent the last four seasons on the St. Henry coaching staff.
Moorman is now in charge of the program and - quite literally - has some big shoes to fill as she replaces former coach and University of Dayton post player Kurt Huelsman.

ST. MARYS - With former girls' head coach Nikki Miars stepping down from her position at St. Marys during the offseason, it became Jonathan Burke's time to take over the program which he coached at the junior varsity level a season ago.
