Wayne Pittsenbarger
Wayne E. Pittsenbarger, age 88, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 6:04 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, Ohio.
He was born on April 1, 1929 in Versailles, Ohio, to the late George & Mary Gladys (Riggs) Pittsenbarger.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Rebecca & Rick Utz of Fairfield Glade, TN, and Doug & Valarie Pittsenbarger of Dublin, OH; grandchildren, Tracy & Rob Hoffman, Derik & Beth Utz, Matthew & Michelle Pittsenbarger and Zachary Pittsenbarger; 11 great grandchildren; brother in law and sister in law, Eddie Collins of Versailles, OH and Delilah Pittsenbarger of Piqua, OH; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M. (Collins) Pittsenbarger whom he married on December 18, 1948; brother, Richard Pittsenbarger; sister, Patricia Pittsenbarger; sisters in law, Evelyn (William) Nixon and Phyllis Collins.
Wayne was a teacher for Upper Valley JVS and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles. He loved woodworking and was an artist.
There will be a service held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio, with Pastor Bob Akins officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Versailles, Ohio.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers it is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or Brethren Retirement Community Resident Aid Fund.
