Light snow across the area early this morning will increase in coverage and intensity toward sunrise in the I-70 corridor. This band of moderate snow will push south affecting the Tri-State region by mid morning, eventually pushing south of the area by early to mid afternoon.
Snow amounts of 1-2 inches will common for a good portion of the area on grassy surfaces, with melting on concrete surfaces limiting accumulations. Main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on mainly bridges and overpasses.
Temperatures today will remain steady mainly in the upper 20s. These cold temperatures combined with gusty winds of 20-25 mph will result in wind chill values in the teens to lower 20s.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Monday morning commute.

Rex Emans
Rex V. Emans, age 70 of Rockford, Ohio passed away from his earthly body into eternal life in Heaven at 9:30 pm on February 2, 2018.
He was born on July 21, 1947, in Celina, Ohio to Alfred and Marilyn Emans, who both preceded him in death. Rex is married to Janet Emans who survives him at their residence in Rockford.
Rex was the father to one daughter, Jill (Fred) Velez of Decatur, Indiana; grandfather to 3 grandchildren, Ryann, Rylie, and Dylan; and brother to Rick (Barb) Emans of Mendon and Rita Puthoff of Celina.
Rex was a graduate of Mendon Union High School. He was self-employed as a welder, owning Rex Emans Welding, Inc and worked at the Mercer County Highway Department.
He was a member of the Mendon First Church of God, American Legion of Celina, Mendon Masonic Lodge, Eagles of Rockford, and the VFW Post 6772 of Spencerville. Rex was a recipient of the Purple Heart for his service in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 10:30 am, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, Ohio with Pastor Jason Boroff officiating. Graveside services will follow at Mendon Cemetery with military honors by Celina VFW Post #5713 and American Legion Post #210.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm–7:00 pm Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Mendon First Church of God and/or State of the Heart Hospice.
