Patsy Murray
Patsy A. Murray, age 71, of Celina, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly from complications following surgery at 1:19 pm, February 9, 2018, at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born July 7, 1946, in Lima, Ohio to the late Carl and Frieda (Hirschfeld) Ankerman. On June 7, 1969, she married Richard H. Murray, and he survives at the residence in Celina.
Other survivors are two daughters, Melissa (Brian) Lestini, Moorestown, NJ, and Sharon (Micah) Huot, Charlotte, NC; a son, Richard Andrew Murray, Celina; two sisters, Marjorie (Harold) Feuser, Naples, FL, and Constance (Mark) Torsell, St. Marys, Ohio; a brother, Kenneth (Suzanne) Ankerman, St. Marys; and three grandchildren, Connor, Olivia, and Alessandra.
Also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Ankerman.
Patsy was a 1964 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and a 1969 graduate of The Ohio State University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She retired as a school teacher after 30 years of service working at Coldwater City Schools, Gas City Indiana City Schools, and most recently Celina City Schools.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Celina, Mercer County Retired Teachers, University Women's Club, and she was a life member of American Legion, Post 323 Ladies Auxiliary in St. Marys.
Patsy was active in a Bible study group, the girls of 64, a local book club, and she considered herself fortunate to be a 20 year survivor of breast cancer. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation hours will be from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm on Monday, February 12, 2018 in Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am, Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in St. John Lutheran Church, Celina, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Jeffery G. Gramza officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, Ohio.
