Orville Borchers Jr.
Orville "Orv" W. Borchers Jr., age 71, Versailles, passed away of natural causes Friday morning, March 2, 2018, at the Versailles Health Care Center in Versailles, Ohio.
He was born June 23, 1946, in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Orville Sr. and Marlene (Simon) Borchers.
Surviving are twelve siblings: Janet "Jane" & Ronald Nufrio of Sidney, Julia & Steven (dec.) Weaver of Centerville, Rebecca & Leslie Nason of Waterford, WI, Alan & Robin Borchers of Jackson Center, Joseph & Joan Borchers of Versailles, Frank Borchers of New Bremen, Mark & Therese Borchers of Versailles, Mary & Mark Heft of Versailles, Teresa & Chuck Kohlhepp of Xenia, Christopher & Kimberly Borchers, Steven & Lillian Borchers, and Kathy & Randy Schmitz, all of Versailles along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Mr. Borchers was a 1964 graduate of Versailles High School. He then continued studies at Miami Jacobs Business College and obtained a BA degree from Ferris State University, Big Rapids, MI.
He was retired from the former Willowdell Sales where he had been an accountant. Previously, he had been a business manager at Jack Huelsman Chevy Olds in Fairborn.
Orville attended Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He was an active member of St. Denis Knights of Columbus and the 4th Degree St. Gaspar del Bufalo Assembly where he held several offices in both clubs over the years.
Orv loved his family and enjoyed interacting with his nieces and nephews. He was widely known to be kind and generous. An avid Corvette fan, over the years Orv also golfed and played a lot of softball.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Newport with Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
