Rosalyn Fahncke
Rosalyn M. "Rosie" Fahncke, 84, of Wapakoneta died at 2:35 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Otterbein, Cridersville.
She was born on July 8, 1933 in Sidney, OH to Leo & Catherina (Heyne) Uppenkamp who preceded her in death. On September 2, 1950 she married Richard C. "Dick" Fahncke and he passed away on May 25, 2014.
Survivors include seven children; Keith (Diane) Fahncke and Ronald (Therese) Fahncke both of Wapakoneta, Bob (Jayne) Fahncke of Miamisburg, Larry (Lisa) Fahncke also of Wapakoneta, Lisa (Steve) Merkle of London, Ohio, Kathy (Scot) Poppe of Canton, and Amy (David) Schlenker of Wapakoneta; 17 grandchildren, Justin (Wendi), Trent (Brandi), and Nathan Fahncke, Adam (Anne) Fahncke and Seth (Ashleigh Horton) Fahncke, Ryan (Jessica) Fahncke, B.J. (Rachael) Fahncke, and Brittany (Reid) Bowles, Shannon and Kyle Merkle, Bailey Williams and Kalia, Kurt, Caleb, Zachary, Heidi and Zoey Schlenker; five step-grandchildren Summer (Mark) Shafer, Haley (Rodney) Siebeneck, Adam (Jill) Turner, Sarah (Jason) Spraley and Danielle Meier; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward (Janet) Uppenkamp; and two sisters, Barbara Williams and Karen Brandehoff.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy K. Fahncke; a great-grandson, Cooper James Fahncke; and a brother, Paul Uppenkamp.
Rosie was a farm wife and retired from St. Rita's Medical Center as a medical records receptionist. She had also worked at Pantry Pride in Wapakoneta. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments, camping and spending the winter months in Florida.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. March 20, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta with Rev. Sean Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at SCHLOSSER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, Wapakoneta.
Memorial contributions may be directed the St. Joseph Renovation Fund.
