Homer Ganger
Homer Ganger, 80, of New Knoxville, Ohio, died Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Lima Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born March 4, 1938, in Greenville, Ohio, the son of Homer and Elenora (White) Ganger. He married Charlyne Pitsenbarger on December 14, 1985, in Houston, Ohio; she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his four sons: Jeff Ganger of Rockford; Bruce (Robin) Ganger of Celina; Daniel (Holly) Ganger of Rockford; Mark (Christa) Ganger of Van Wert. He is survived by his grandchildren: Jessica (Justin) Beveridge of Rockford; Richard (Starla) Martin of Columbus; Corey (Laura) Weis of Celina; Daniel Ganger, Jr. of Rockford; Christina (James) Stevens of Rockford; Becki (Josh) Hissong of Hilliard; Angel Ganger of Middle Point; Brandon Ganger of Rockford; Colin Ganger of Rockford; Dakota Ganger of Rockford; Elizabeth Ganger of Van Wert; Brittany Ganger of Van Wert; A.J. Ganger of Van Wert; Matthew Butler of Celina; Wendy McNerney of Celina; Tyson McNerney.
He is survived by his siblings Ruby Tiller; James Ganger; Mabel Ganger; Evelyn Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by two step-grandchildren, Alisha and Brandon Eisenhutt; by a sister, Marcella Ganger.
Homer attended school in Houston, Ohio. He was retired from Airport Manufacturing in New Knoxville, and later worked at Hoge Lumber Company.
He was well known in the area for the thousands of miles he had pedaled on his bike. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, and was a great conversationalist. He will be remembered for his friendly personality. He attended the First Church of New Knoxville.
Funeral rites for Mr. Ganger will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the First Church of New Knoxville, the Reverend Joel Bucklin, officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 5-7 P.M. Friday in the Ministry Center of the First Church of New Knoxville, where memorial gifts may be given to his family.
