Deborah Koverman
Deborah J. Koverman age 63 of New Bremen, died on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 4:30 A.M. at Vancrest of St. Marys, where she had been a resident for the last few years.
She was born on September 3, 1954 in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of the late James E. and Eileen H. (Lehman) Staton. On December 15, 1973, she married Daniel Koverman, and he survives.
Also surviving are their children; Leah and Erik Ledford of Huber Heights, Andy and Jamie Koverman of Minster, Carrie and Ryan Schmackers of Maria Stein, and Tony (Angie Morris) Koverman of Minster, twelve grandchildren, and her siblings; Kathy and David Bergman of Palm Coast, Florida, James and Elaine Staton of Jackson Center, Bob and Gwen Staton of New Bremen, Mike (Karen Schmitt) Staton of Celina, and Karen Koverman of Oakwood.
Along with her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by a grandson Matthew Koverman.
Deborah was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen, where she had been a cantor, and sang in the choir.
She was a 1972 graduate of New Bremen High School. She worked at the former Wint's Restaurant in New Bremen, and then worked in Assembly at Crown Equipment in New Bremen prior to becoming a babysitter.
She had been a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader, and sang at numerous weddings. Deborah loved her family, and especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Dorn, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery of Minster.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and one hour prior to the Mass on Wednesday, at the church.
Memorial contributions in memory of Deborah can be made to the Activity Fund at Vancrest of St. Marys.
