Janice Goodwin
Janice L. Goodwin, 72, of St. Marys, OH died 10:19 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Gardens of Wapakoneta, from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born January 5, 1946 in Celina, OH to Paul and Fairy (Hinton) Walker.
On December 6, 1963 in Portland, IN she married Leroy Goodwin, who survives.
Also survived by: son Terry (Annette) Goodwin of St. Marys, OH; daughter Tammy (Todd) Bruns of Moulton, OH; son Travis Goodwin of St. Marys, OH; 2 grandchildren: Elyssa (Austin) Boise and Jared Goodwin; 1 great-grandson Blake Boise; brother Paul (Linda) Walker of Coldwater, MI; sister Betty Walker of Lexington, KY; brother Glen (Becky) Walker of Wapakoneta, OH; and sister Lois (Richard) Swallow of Wapakoneta, OH.
Preceded in death by: parents Paul and Fairy Walker; sister Rita Caywood-Baker.
She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1964) and Lima Technical College.
She began her life-long service in the food profession at the E.U.B.-Camp St. Marys Church Camp on Grand Lake St. Marys. She later worked in the cafeteria at Moulton Elementary School, prior to becoming Cafeteria Supervisor for St. Marys City Schools.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in St. Marys, where she was instrumental in starting its weekly Community Dinner.
Her favorite pastimes included scrap-booking and researching genealogy. She also faithfully maintained friendships with many of her high school friends, meeting monthly to play cards.
Janice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by those she loved.
Rites are scheduled to begin 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 8, 2018 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys. The Rev. Bev Hurlburt will officiate the services. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton, OH.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
