Richard DeVault
Richard E. "Dick" DeVault, age 76 of Celina, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 28, 2018 at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, to Jack E. DeVault and Wanda (McCartney) Harold, on Sept. 23, 1941. On March 18, 1961 he married Jean Martin, who lives in Celina. Also surviving is his daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Kenneth Wendel of Celina, a grandson Cody Wendel of Celina, two sisters and brothers-in-law Jackie and Ray Falkner of Ellicott City, Maryland, Jan and Rich Tylka of Angier, North Carolina, and two sisters-in-law Naomi and Sonny Wilson of Morgantown, W.V. and Teresa and Dan Kagey of Greenville.
Dick was preceded in death by his father and his step father William Harold.
He graduated from Morgantown High School in Morgantown, West Virginia. Then he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in South Korea. He owned and operated the former Empire Restaurant in Greenville and for the last fifteen years was a truck driver for Klingshirn & Son's Trucking. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. Dick was a devoted husband and father, who loved and cherished his grandson.
Private family services will be held at a later date. He will be buried in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina. The Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home is handling arrangements for the DeVault family.
