Grand Lake third baseman Chris Meyers throws to first base during the first inning of Thursday's scheduled exhibition with the Portland Rockets. The game was delayed nearly an hour due to lightning and rain. The Mariners got through the top of the first before the game was halted again due to lightning and eventually cancelled.

The Mariners open GLSCL play this weekend at Montgomery Field against the Richmond Jazz with games on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and on Sunday at 4:35 p.m.
