CELINA - Celina native Cameron Mohler was crowned 2018 Miss Lake Festival during Monday night's scholarship pageant competition.
Mohler, 19, shared the stage with 10 other contestants. Four outstanding teen contestants also took the stage.
Mohler is the daughter of Chris and Dancie Mohler and will be a sophomore at Otterbein University in the upcoming school year. As the winner, she received a $4,000 scholarship, as well as a $500 scholarship for her talent, for which she sang "On My Own," a song from the musical "Les Miserables."
Contestants participated in a private interview prior to the program and an onstage interview, during which the ladies answered two questions about their opinions, interests and aspirations.
Mohler's platform was "The Journey of Life: Make Your Impact." When asked how she would encourage others to make an impact in their community, Mohler said every day people are given a choice of whether to make a positive impact on others and that it's something everyone can do and should strive for.
In the evening portion, Mohler wore a dark-blue dress with a ruffle top, decorated with metallic designs along the top and midriff.
First runner-up and winner of a $2,000 scholarship was Riley Post, 19, St. Henry. She is the daughter of Ronald and Sandra Post and her platform was "The 'Write' Mindset." During the evening-wear portion, she wore a form-fitting, light-blue dress adorned with dazzling sequins.
Contestant Alayna Webb, 20, was named second runner-up, which comes with a $1,300 scholarship. She also won the People's Choice Award, which comes with a $1,200 scholarship, and the interview award, which carries a $500 scholarship. She is the daughter of Alesha Billger and Roland Crouch.
Other award winners were Alexis Heath, 17, who was named third runner-up and received a $1,000 scholarship; Ashley Ray, 19, who received the Commitment to Excellence Award and a $500 scholarship; and Kennedy Swann, 21, who received the Miss Congeniality Award and a $200 scholarship.
