Constance Droesch
Connie L. (Francis) Droesch, age 76, Versailles, Ohio, passed away of natural causes at her residence on Monday, July 23, 2018.
She was born March 27, 1942, in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Carl and Amelia (Simon) Francis. On June 19, 1966, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Newport, Connie married Ralph S. Droesch who preceded her in death on May 21, 2010.
She is survived by two children, Michael & Vickie Droesch of Pataskala and Jennifer & Michael Lippert of Libertyville, IL, along with three grandsons, Jared and Gabriel Droesch and Robert Lippert; two siblings, Linda & Jim Davidson of Versailles and John E. Francis of Athens as well as sisters & brothers-in-law: Carol Francis of Willowdell, Delores & John Springer of Tipp City, Marlene & Bill Schrage of Perrysburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Rose Francis; two brothers, Lawrence & Janice and Richard & Jane Francis as well as in-laws, LeRoy & Mary Droesch and Mary Ann & Bob Hoying.
Mrs. Droesch retired from teaching in 2001. She taught second and third grade students at Russia Local School for 32 years. Previously, she taught at the Piqua South Street Elementary School for seven years, beginning her teaching career in 1962.
Connie was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and had been active in the Daughters of Isabella. She belonged to the Versailles Historical Society and had been a past Board member. She was also a member of the Shelby County Retired Teachers Association, Ohio Retired Teachers Association and the National Education Association. Connie was an avid reader. She also enjoyed writing, sewing and gardening.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, July 27, 2018, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. James Simons presiding. Interment will follow at St. Valbert Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday 9:00 to 9:30 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
Memorials will be forwarded to student school supply charities or charities of the donor's choice.
