Carl graduated from Minster High School in 1967. He was a dedicated and loyal worker at both Dannon and Crown, where he prided himself on punctuality. It didn't hurt that being early meant the best parking spot, too. Carl was a lifelong member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and served as a longtime Jackson Township Trustee. He was a member of Minster FOE 1391, Knights of Columbus, Auglaize Soil and Water Board, and was a JTDMH Trustee. He enjoyed watching sports - especially those involving his children and grandchildren. He even had his own "popcorn rating" for every sporting event. He was truly proud to be a Minster Wildcat. He never met a stranger, and was quick to welcome everyone he met with an uncanny storytelling ability. Often these stories involved ornery brother-in-laws and maybe even included an embellishment from time to time. Always a sharp card player with one eye on everyone else's cards, his one flaw was never allowing anyone else to bid - a classic Albers trait. Through the years, Carl had many medical ailments, but there was never a complaint. Despite his very large stature, Chief was a gentle giant who was a survivor, a fighter. His size and strength were small compared to his friendliness and sense of humor. He will be missed by many, but his spirit will always be with us.
