Diane Smithson, Anna, and Adrien Grillot, New Bremen, practice quilling at the New Bremen Public Library on Tuesday afternoon. Assistant library director Laura Freer explained quilling is an artform that uses strips of paper that are rolled, shaped and glued together to create decorative designs. She noted during the Renaissance, French and Italian nuns and monks used quilling to decorate book covers and religious items.
