Julia Williams
Julia Ann "Judy" Williams, 91, a resident of Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community, and a formerly of Summerville, South Carolina, died 9:11 P.M. Monday, October 1, 2018.
She was born September 20, 1927, in Clearwater, Florida, the daughter of Ennis Hart and Sarah Frances (Camp) Van Duyn, Sr. She married John Dupuy Williams on June 17, 1950; he preceded her in death in 2001.
She is survived by her daughters: Frances (Gerald) Shoemaker of Celina; Judy Jo Williams of Asheville, North Carolina; Leslie (John) Nilsson of Levering, Michigan. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer (Eddie) Philabaun of Ironton, Ohio; Rebecca (J.D.) King of Troy, Ohio; Sarah (Jonathan) Imbrunone of Canton, Michigan; John (Lara) Stevenson of Asheville, North Carolina. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren: Caleb Gianola; Ell Imbrunone; Abbey Imbrunone; Simon King; Davis King; Liam Philabaun; Malia Philabaun; Kai Stevenson; Axton Stevenson. She is survived by a brother, Ennis H. (Carol Anne) Van Duyn of Harrisonburg, Virginia; by a sister-in-law, Rosalind (Peter) Whalon of Kennebunkport, Maine.
Judy graduated in 1948 from the Englewood Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as an RN at Englewood Hospital, Englewood, New Jersey, and Mary Hitchcock Hospital, Hanover, New Hampshire. She was extremely active in her church and community her entire life.
Funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 14, 2018, in the Meyer Community Chapel on the campus of Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community, the Reverend Bruce McDaniel, officiant. Private family burial rites will be held at Georgetown Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Georgetown, South Carolina.
Friends may call from 1:30 until the time of services on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be given to either Otterbein Saint Marys Benevolent Fund or Grand Lake Hospice.
