Lauren Jean Schroeder reacts after winning first place in the Ohio Has Talent contest on Saturday in Van Wert.

  VAN WERT - Celina High School student Lauren Jean Schroeder captured top honors in the Ohio Has Talent contest Saturday night at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center.

  Schroeder sang and played guitar to the Queen song "Somebody to Love" in her contest-winning performance. The performance netted her the $1,000 first prize.  

  Second place and $500 in cash went to Connor Raines of Lima. Lily Rindler of New Bremen received $250 for third place.

  Receiving honorable mention were Aleiya Douglas of Fostoria and the dance trio of Emily Lichtle, Chloe Neilsen and Alecta Baxter, all of the Van Wert area.
