Celina Fire Department personnel respond to a fire at Crown Equipment Corp. on Grand Lake Road on Thursday afternoon. The small fire resulted in an evacuation and heavy volumes of smoke. A piece of plastic reportedly landed on the heating element of a vacuum form oven, according to Celina Fire Lt. Chris Kline. Crown workers had extinguished the fire by the time the firefighters arrived around 3:30 p.m. Firefighters evacuated the area and took apart the machine to investigate the cause of the fire. Production was halted for a little more than an hour, and firefighters returned to the station around 4:40 p.m. Kline said no one was injured.
