Leland McBride
Leland C. McBride, age 93, of Lawton, MI and formerly of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, Michigan.
He was born on January 16, 1926 in Rockford, Ohio, to the late Buress and Leona (Becher) McBride. On May 21, 1946 he married Clara Borgerding, who died on Jan. 8, 2007.
Leland is survived by his daughter Nancy Booher of Celina, his grandchildren Rob (Eva) May of Amberg, Germany, Tom (Jonelle) May of Lawton, MI, Betsy Booher (John Nicodemo) of Bowling Green, OH and Kate (Noah) Schachter of Ft. Wright, KY, great grandchildren Niklas and Emma May, Alexandra, Kinsley, and Seth May and Kalman Schachter and several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Jeannie May, son Mike McBride, son-in-law Steve Booher and his sister and brother-in-law Lois (George) Squire.
Leland served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from AVCO New Idea in Coldwater and was a farmer. He formerly attended the Celina First Church of God, and was a member of the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713, a member of Celina Masonic Lodge F&AM #241 and the Scottish Rite.
He enjoyed camping, watching TV, playing games and cards with family and friends.
Private family services will be held at the convenience of the McBride family. Leland will be buried in the Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI.
