Ruth Carr
Ruth L. Carr, age 94, of Rockford, Ohio, passed away at Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 7:20 am.
She was born October 14, 1924 in Mercer County to the late Elmer and Mary (Luth) Bollenbacher. On January 4, 1947 she married Calvin Carr, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2018.
Other survivors include three sons, C. Douglas (Teresa) Carr, Rockford, Steven D. Carr, Michigan City, Indiana, and Bradley B. (Kimberly) Carr, Willshire, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Aaron, Sarah, Brent, Paul, and Adam; and nine great grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by two brothers, John and James Bollenbacher.
Ruth was a 1942 graduate of Rockford High School. She was a homemaker and also retired from Rockford First National Bank after 20 plus years of service. She was a life member of St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township, Rockford, where she was very active in the women's group. She also volunteered her time at Laurels of Shane Hill, and State of the Heart Hospice.
Ruth was a devoted wife and mother, a fun loving grandma, and had many friends. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, traveling, and watching the Cincinnati Bengals. She will be deeply missed by all.
Visitation hours will be from 4:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in the Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township, 9009 State Route 118, Celina, Ohio 45822, with Rev. Karen Tamorria, officiating, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 am-10:30 am prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, Ohio.
