Doris Grieshop
Doris Marie (Wellman) Grieshop, age 86, a long-time resident of Celina, passed peacefully at Mercer Health Hospital in Coldwater, on Tuesday morning, October 22, 2019.
Doris was born December 29, 1932, in Jay County, Indiana, to the late Phillip Wellman and Josephine (Muhlenkamp) Wellman. On September 17, 1955, she married Dennis Grieshop of Fort Recovery, at St. Anthony Church in Padua, Ohio. He preceded her in death January 8, 1995.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Doug) Kremer of St. Henry, and their sons, Brent Kremer of Cincinnati, Brad (Renee) Kremer of Columbus, and Brian Kremer of Cincinnati. She is also survived by her son, David (Carla) Grieshop of Hilliard, and their sons 2nd Lt. Aaron Grieshop, USMC, of Quantico, Virginia, and Stephen Grieshop of Hilliard. She is survived by sisters: Wilma (Jim) Pfeffenberger of Celina, and Jeanette (Richard) Alig of Coldwater; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Norma Wellman of Jay County, Indiana, Rosemary (Herb) Kaiser of Coldwater, Louis (Charlene) Grieshop of Fort Recovery, Herb (Janice) Grieshop of Celina, and Jeanette Grieshop of Fort Recovery, and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was predeceased by siblings: Mildred (Melvin) Brunswick, Norbert (Julianna) Wellman, Cletus (Lou Ann) Wellman, Marcella (Wilbert) Reier, and Lavern Wellman; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerome (Norma) Grieshop, Maurice Grieshop, Martha (Cletus) Dues, Ruth (Fred) Wilker, Laura (Ralph) Langenkamp, and John (Dorothy) Grieshop, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In her younger years, Doris worked at Mersman Tables and Bryan's Bridal in Celina. She was a beloved mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first great grandchild. She loved gardening, flowers, and mowing her yard with her John Deere lawn tractor. Doris was a wonderful homemaker, and a devout member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, and belonged to the Altar Rosary Society.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 26, at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, with Fr. Ken Schnipke, C.PP.S., presiding. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery in Celina.
As per Doris' wishes, there will be no visitation. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral luncheon, which will be held at the Parish Activity Center.
If you so choose, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made to the Mercer Health MED Foundation, or Immaculate Conception Church, which was near and dear to Doris' heart.
