Robert Stelzer
Robert A. Stelzer, age 85, of Coldwater, Ohio, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in Lima.
He was born September 28, 1934 in Celina to the late August and Lorena (Huelsman) Stelzer. On May 14, 1955 he married his true love Eileen (Pohl), and she survives in Coldwater. They were married for 64 years.
He is also survived by children, Ann and John Brewer of Centerville, Bill and Debbie Stelzer of Vandalia, Dan and Lori Stelzer of Temperance, MI, Julie and Bob Wendel, Jane and Chris Dippold and Jim Stelzer all of Coldwater; 15 grandchildren, Holly, Scott (Kathy), Jenna (Travis), Justin, Jon, Ryan (Anntonia), Megan, Dylan, Jordan, Jesse, Isaac, Seth, Bryn, Leslie, and Adam, and 2 great-grandchildren, Jude and Liam; and siblings, Kate Hedrick of Coldwater, Alice Dirksen of Celina, Tom Stelzer of Celina, Ken Stelzer of Olathe, KA and Ralph and Nicki Stelzer of Celina; in-laws, Bonnie Stelzer of Mason, Lavern Pohl of Chickasaw, Carl and Mary Ann Pohl of Maria Stein, Arlene Pohl of Versailles, Leroy Pohl of Cincinnati, Denis Pohl of Greenville, Larry and Jessie Pohl of Alpharetta, GA, and Nancy and Jerry Meyer of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by a son, Tony, a daughter, Amy, and a great-grandchild, Bodhi; siblings Arnold Stelzer, Evelyn and Roger Bechdolt, and in-laws Al Dirksen, Tom Hedrick, Pat Stelzer, Judy Stelzer, Rita Pohl, Roger Pohl, and Alberta Pohl.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, and its Holy Name Society and the Coldwater Knights of Columbus where he was honored as Grand Knight. He worked as an engineer for 46 years at the former New Idea Plant in Coldwater and was a volunteer at the Center for Neurological Development in Burkettsville. Bob served on the boards of Tri Star, Cheryl Ann, and the New Idea Preservation Committee.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater on Sunday, January 19th from 1 to 5 PM and on Monday from 9 to 10 AM.
