FORT RECOVERY - A Fort Recovery High School graduate and former softball player is the third person to be arrested and charged in connection with the murder of a Portland, Indiana, man, according to a Jay County prosecutor's news release.
Hannah Knapke, 18, Fort Recovery, was arrested in connection to the Jan. 12 murder of Shea Briar, 31, Portland, Indiana. Investigators reportedly flew to Marshalltown, Iowa, to interview Knapke on Jan. 14. [More]
Mikesell dunks as No 7 Dayton drubs St. Bonaventure

DAYTON - Obi Toppin's five-dunk night in Dayton's 86-60 drubbing of St. Bonaventure Wednesday wasn't shocking.
But a two-handed flush by Ryan Mikesell may have shocked some people.

Crews work to rehabilitate old historic building
ST. MARYS - The first phase of the Reservoir Mill Restoration Project has begun with city officials hoping to have a structure unique in Ohio when it's completed.
CELINA - A Celina man who was accused of assaulting his wife has pleaded guilty to a second-degree charge of felonious assault, a fifth-degree felony charge of escape and two fourth-degree misdemeanor charges of menacing as part of a plea deal.

COLDWATER - Work on a $450,000 expansion and redesign of Mercer County Community Hospital's pharmacy should be done sometime this spring, hospital officials said Wednesday.
BLACKCREEK TOWNSHIP - Jordan Road between U.S. 33 and Winkler Road will be closed for a bridge replacement, said Mercer County Engineer Jim Wiechart.
The road is expected to be closed on Monday and is scheduled to reopen in about six weeks, weather permitting.
