Eugene Reichert
Eugene J. Reichert, age 84 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born on September 6, 1935, in Celina, Ohio to the late George and Alvina (Fortkamp) Reichert. On Oct. 20, 1962, he married Mary Ann Hoyng, who survives living in Celina.
He is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law Jeff (Cindy) Reichert of Pawley's Island, S.C., David (Dawn) Reichert of Rockford, MI, Jason (Lisa) Reichert of Huntersville, N.C., Nine grandchildren, a brother & sister-in-law William (Sharon) Reichert of Cincinnati and his sister & brother-in-law Joan (Jim) Bueltel of Sterling Heights, MI. Also surviving is his brother-in-law John Hoyng of Punta Gorda, Fl. and three sisters-in-law Rita (Gary) Haliena of Seneca, S.C., Vickie Hoyng and Linda Hoyng both of Dayton.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and Carrie (Boeke) Hoyng, two children Stevan Reichert and Diane Reichert, and two brothers-in-law Carl Hoyng and Mark Hoyng.
He graduated from the Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in Celina, with the Class of 1953. He then proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 until 1958.
He was employed at Mersman Furniture for thirty-three years. He was a transportation driver for the Veteran Service Office in Celina and also worked at the Mercer County Recorder's Office. Eugene served as a Director on the board at The Peoples Bank.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713, Celina American Legion Post #210, Celina Eagles Aerie #1291 and the Knights of Columbus Council #1800.
He was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. He enjoyed playing cards, and picture puzzles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina at a later date.
A private family viewing will be held at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. Military Honors will be provided by the Celina American Legion Post #210 and the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713 following Mass on Friday at the Church.
