Minster eatery ready to reopen

MINSTER - The Wooden Shoe Inn, a long-standing community staple, has been given a new life and a fresh start under the guidance of new owners.
Andy Phlipot, 55, has loved The Wooden Shoe, both the brewing company and restaurant, since he was a child. At age 9, Phlipot said he was the youngest member of The Wooden Shoe beer collectors club. He and his father have been collecting Wooden Shoe memorabilia for years. [More]

Beautiful weather made for good golfing as the Lima Junior Golf Association made its summer tour stop at Celina Lynx Golf Club on Thursday.
The course was perfect for Ellen Naumann as the St. Henry grad and 2019 tour Girls Golfer of the Year won her second straight tournament in the girls' 16-18 division. [More]

CELINA - Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Mercer County on Thursday, raising the county's total to 239.
One new confirmed case was reported in Auglaize County, raising that county's confirmed number to 75.
CELINA - Mercer County officials will apply for $500,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds to pay for drainage infrastructure work in Montezuma.
CHICKASAW - Village residents will soon see a $10 monthly increase in their water bills.
Council members on Wednesday approved the revised rate, which will go into effect on July 1.

"Those two were one of St. Marys's first dynamic duos that we had in the backfield," said longtime assistant Denny Vossler, who grew up watching them play.
