After a century, the Legion returns, presents charter

MENDON - The American Legion has returned to Mendon after a roughly 100-year absence.
State and local American Legion commanders gathered at the old farm store in town on Tuesday to present the charter to community members.
The Henry Drake-Ricky D. Zizelman Post 2019 charter was presented by State Commander Roger Friend and Ohio Second District Commander Walter Maharg. [More]

The Bulldogs won big on Tuesday.

CELINA - City council members have once again been asked to consider installing boat cleats on the city's boardwalk so more boaters can secure their vessels and patronize restaurants along West Bank Road.
FORT RECOVERY - School board members accepted the resignation of high school principal Bill Overla during a special meeting on Tuesday morning.
Overla has been with the district since August 2018. His resignation is effective July 31.
CELINA - One new confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported on Tuesday in Mercer County, bringing the county's total to 256.
No new cases were reported in Auglaize County.
Mercer County's unemployment rate improved in May after nearly a quarter of all residents were unemployed in April.
The county's unemployment rate recovered from 14% in April to 9% in May, according to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
ST. HENRY - The St. Henry Community Picnic will offer a one-day event at 1 p.m. July 4.
