Donald Schleucher
Donald Eugene Schleucher, 86, passed away at 8:06 am on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Blanchard Valley Hospital with family by his side.
Don was born on May 9, 1934 to the late Edward and Anna (Weitz) Schleucher in Celina, OH. Upon graduation from Celina High School in 1952, Don went on to obtain his business degree in 1955 from the International College in Fort Wayne, IN. and on August 1 1954, Don married the love of his life, Shirley Ashcraft, and she survives.
Also surviving are his two sons Doug (Carol) Schleucher of Bluffton, OH and Terry Schleucher of Findlay, OH; his five grandchildren, Kyle (Charlene) Schleucher of Manitowoc, WI, Katie (James) Perkins of Canal Winchester, OH, Todd (Erika) Schleucher of Naperville, IL., Jeremy Schleucher of Findlay, OH and Emma Schleucher of Morgantown, WV; as well as five great grandchildren Lydia, Karis and Robin Schleucher and Kale and Crew Perkins. Don is also survived by his siblings Richard (Jackie) Schleucher of Celina, OH and Marjorie (Sam) Rhodes of Sherwood, OH.
Preceding him in death is his daughter in law, Pamela Schleucher.
Don had a passion for numbers and he started his accounting career at D.R. Smalley & Sons, Inc. in Celina, OH and in 1962, he continued his success at Marathon Oil Company in Findlay, OH for over 32 years as a Refining and Marketing Accounting Analyst. Don was an active member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church and served on numerous committees since 1962. Don was involved in the Boy Scouts of America and was a presiding cub master from 1967-1968. Don was most proud of his involvement with Cancer Patient Services where he was a board member for more than 20 years. Don was a "numbers guy" and was skillful in his investments, but he also had said he enjoyed "going to the farm, and just driving the tractor".
Family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at Coldren Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, OH. A private family burial will take place later with Pastor Richard Purvis officiating.
