Julius Bader
Julius R. Bader, age 87 of Celina, passed away with his family at his side on Friday, July 31, 2020 at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima, OH.
He was born August 1, 1932 in Celina to the late Raymond and Justine (Jutte) Bader. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Weisman) Bader, Celina.
He is also survived by his children: Steve (Carol) Bader, Celina, and Todd (Stacy) Bader, Celina, and his grandchildren: Brennen (Paige) Bader, Celina; Jared (Kendall) Bader, Hilliard; Kylee (Craig) Welker, Celina; Braelen (Brooke) Bader, Celina; Grant Bader, Celina, great grandson, Bryles Bader and two sisters Irene Jones of Celina and Juanita Masonbrink of St. Marys.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, Jumarus Bader, his brother and sisters-in-law: Richard (Geri) Bader, Mary Jo Bader, brothers-in-law: Paul Jones and Jack Masonbrink.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Celina. Julius graduated from Celina High School (Class of 1952). He was a Korean War Army veteran. He was employed at Mersman Tables, Celina and Reynolds and Reynolds, Celina for 30 years.
He was a die-hard Bulldog fan and often seen as the first fan in the stands. He loved attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and teaching them how to fish. He enjoyed fishing, refinishing antique furniture, helping his sons build and remodel houses, and recently working with ceramics.
He was a member of the Mercer County Sportsman Association, the American Legion Post #210, the Veterans of Foreign War Post #5713, and the Celina Athletic Boosters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Celina, with Rev. Jeff Gramza officiating. Burial will follow in the North Grove Cemetery in Celina, with Military Honors provided by the Celina American Legion and the Celina V.F.W.
Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday before the service.
Funeral services for Julius have been entrusted to the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
