THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 220 IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN OHIO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 2 COUNTIES IN WEST CENTRAL OHIO AUGLAIZE MERCER THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF CELINA, COLDWATER, MINSTER, NEW BREMEN, ST. MARYS, AND WAPAKONETA.

At 538 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Arlington to near Sidney, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, pea size hail, and very heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Hail may cause minor damage to vegetation. Visibility will be poor and hydroplaning is possible. Locations impacted include... Sidney, Bellefontaine, Kenton, Ada, West Liberty, Anna, Jackson Center, Forest, Russells Point, De Graff, Botkins, Lakeview, Dunkirk, Alger, Waynesfield, Belle Center, West Mansfield, Chippewa Park, Hardin, and Northwood. This includes I-75 in Ohio between mile markers 91 and 106. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a sturdy building. Motorists should slow down and use extra caution. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 PM EDT for west central Ohio. Grey says vehicles will help keep staff safe from virus

CELINA - Mercer County commissioners agreed to spend more than $160,000 in federal COVID-19 funds on four new cruisers and GPS/routers, which sheriff Jeff Grey said will help safeguard his deputies against coronavirus exposure.
Commissioners on Thursday morning signed off on Grey's request for two COVID-19 related purchases - four new police SUVs totaling $126,020 and 29 GPS/routers for law enforcement vehicles totaling $35,626.50. [More]
