Bulldogs come up short against Patriots

CELINA - Celina football coach Brennen Bader succeeded with a play from his book of tricks early in Friday's Division III playoff game against Dayton Carroll.
But in the end, it was the Patriots who received the treat of a victory.
Fanuel Uwishimwe rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown and three other Patriots had rushing scores as Carroll ended the postseason for the Bulldogs in a 42-39 offensive slugfest at Celina Stadium. [More]

New board members attend meeting
CELINA - The Mercer Soil and Water Conservation District board of supervisors hired Chad Scott as the new district administrator and technician during their Thursday morning meeting.
ROCKFORD - Halloween is usually associated with things that go bump in the night, but organizers of Rockford's inaugural Fall Fest hope to make the celebration last all day long.
CELINA - The total number of COVID-19 cases neared 1,200 in Mercer County as 18 new cases reported Friday raised the county's total to 1,198 as the state recorded a record high number of new cases.

Minster played its reserves for most of the game as the Wildcats took a 42-0 loss to Pandora-Gilboa. The game was scheduled after both teams had their playoff opening round games canceled and were advanced to the next round.
