* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

John Schlater
Dr. John E. Schlater, age 79, formerly of Coldwater, entered into rest after a 25 year battle with Parkinson's Disease on Sunday, January 24, 2021, in Rochester, Michigan.
He was born October 18, 1941 in Coldwater, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Alma (Saalman) Schlater.
After graduating from high school, John attended Bowling Green University, Iowa State University and The University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he earned a Doctorate in Quantitative Analysis. John worked briefly at U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh, PA but spent the majority of his career with AT&T and retired in 1998.
John enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steeler football games, collecting antique German beer steins, and watching his grandsons play sports.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Paulette (Rebholz) Schlater, daughter Andrea (Andy) Hicks, grandsons Tyler, Caleb and Andrew Hicks, and siblings Maryann (Mike) Hasty, and Jerry (Anne Bateman) Schlater.
He was preceded in death by his brother James (Marilyn) Schlater.
A memorial for John will be held in Pittsburgh, PA when COVID restrictions lift, where he will be interred near his in-laws, Marie (Baranowski) and Albert Rebholz.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the Parkinson's Foundation at www.parkinson.org.
