Judith McGlothen
Judith "Judy" McGlothen, 67, of Saint Marys died at 9:24 p.m. Feb. 20 at Vancrest of Saint Marys.
Born August 4, 1953, in Coldwater, Ohio, Judy was the fifth of Lawrence and Rose (Broering) Bensman's seven children. She grew up on her family's farm, where she learned the value of hard work and the importance of faith.
Judy was a 1971 graduate of Minster High School and worked for many local institutions over the years, including Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., Huffy and Midmark. Later, after an accident impacted her ability to continue factory work, she tapped into her life-long passion for flowers and gardening by joining Abloom Flowers. She continued that work for more than a decade, even during multiple battles with lymphoma.
Above all else, Judy loved her family - both the family she was born into and the family of friends that formed around her. Her compassion, generosity and love of laughter will live on through all who knew her. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted sister, mother, grandmother and friend.
Judy is survived by her daughter Abby (Mike) Sturgill, grandson Dylan, her brothers Ken (Pat) Bensman of New Bremen, Larry (Mary) Bensman, of New Bremen, Nick (Diane) Bensman, of New Bremen and sister-in-laws Karen Bensman of Minster and Cindy Bensman of Anna, Ohio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
