ST. HENRY - A St. Henry man faces felony charges after reportedly sending sexually explicit photos and saying he wished to meet someone he believed was a 13-year-old girl, according to the Mercer County Sheriff's Office.
Kevin J. Fullenkamp, 60, was arrested after a Newbury, Massachusetts, police detective contacted the sheriff's office.
The detective stated he was a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children team, which had been receiving communications from Fullenkamp since November, according to a sheriff's news release.
Fullenkamp reportedly believed he was communicating with a 13-year-old girl and sent sexually explicit photos, engaged in sexually explicit conversations and indicated he wished to meet her in person.
The "girl" was actually an ICAC detective.
Local officials then opened an investigation and the two agencies then shared information. After gathering information, Mercer County detectives consulted with the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office and charges were prepared.
Fullenkamp was arrested Wednesday morning and booked in the Mercer County jail on charges of importuning and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, both fifth-degree felonies.
Fullenkamp's bond has been set at $50,000, subject to a 10% cash option, by Celina Municipal Court Judge Kathryn Speelman.
Detectives also executed a search warrant for Fullenkamp's residence on Wednesday morning, and recovered several pieces of evidence including thumb drives and a cellphone.
The case remains under investigation.
