Dorothy McMullen
Dorothy A. McMullen, 94, of St. Marys, died 11:15 Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Vancrest of St. Marys.
She was born January 4, 1927, in New Knoxville, Ohio, the daughter of Florenz and Alvena (Elshoff) Niemeyer. She married Wilbur McMullen on November 11, 1945; he preceded her in death on January 31, 2001.
She is survived by her two children: Larry (Linda Lou) McMullen of Geneva, Indiana; Linda (Dave) Huston of New Knoxville. She is survived by her 6 grandchildren; by 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her brothers: Ned Niemeyer and Jim Niemeyer, and by two infant brothers.
Dorothy was a graduate of New Knoxville High School, and she had worked at the former Brodbeck's Market and Kroger in St. Marys, and also Celina Group Insurance. She then worked at Linda's Sew and So in Celina. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. She liked to make quilts and embroider lace. She was a very avid card player.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, the Reverend Rhonda Hainer, officiant. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral rites at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to either State of the Heart Hospice, Vancrest Nursing Home or St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
