Delores Abels
Delores L. Abels, age 89, of Coldwater died Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born December 10, 1931 in St. Joe to the late Aloys & Elizabeth (Brockman) Steinbrunner. On April 23, 1960 she married Ralph Abels, who passed away December 30, 1990.
Delores is survived by children, Deb & Dave Moeder of Coldwater, Patty & Bruce Spangler of Coldwater, Rick Abels (dec.), Todd Abels, Shirley & Steven Gross of Celina, and Cheryl & Kevin Pease of Celina, 10 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren with two on the way, and four step great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her family.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Before becoming a dedicated mother, she worked at the former Buckeye Apparel Company in Coldwater. She spent many summer days rooting on the Cincinnati Reds and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, card parties, and watching the activities in her neighborhood. Every Christmas season, Delores and her family celebrated by baking and decorating hundreds of cookies.
  Mass of Christian Burial following all CDC Guidelines will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 to 10 am Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
